UCC technology is based upon the following four components:
· Propellant - proprietary formula - very stable - now fast curing
· Electrical Ignition Primer & Booster - much safer - higher rate of fire
· Electrical Ignition System - over 3 times faster - no moving parts
· Gas-Leak-Proof Chamber - eliminates need for brass casing
UCC technologies have attained an approximate 75% improvement over propellants developed by others to date. A 50% increase in muzzle velocity alone will double the impact energy and triple hit probabilities. Testing of UCC 30mm rounds achieve consistent velocities of 1800meters/second (6480 km/hr). Conventional 30mm ammo has a muzzle velocity of approximately 3888 km/hr. To put this in perspective, one should note that typical supersonic jets fly at 3000 km/hr. Conventional chemistry has pushed muzzle velocities for propellants to the limits they can achieve. The rate of expansion of propellant gases places a practical ceiling on muzzle velocities to 1800m/s (6,000fps). UCC technology has reached that limit and CTI can state with confidence: "there is no other conventional ammunition developer that has come close to our results." UCC technology harnesses propellant gases expansion energy and enables maximum achievable muzzle velocity.
Recent developments with caseless ammunition at 30mm caliber has been very successful by Mauser-Werke Oberndorf Waffensysteme GmbH (Germany). Since 1997, Mauser has been working on a recoil-less machine cannon using the revolutionary UCC Caseless ammunition technology. The performance characteristics achieved by UCC surpass any other technology available or currently under development. An incredible muzzle velocity of 1800m/s was achieved with a 30mm HEI/SD-T projectile and 960m/s was achieved without any recoil.
